Owasso, Oklahoma is a northern suburb of Tulsa, in the northeastern corner of Oklahoma known as “Green Country” for its vegetation, hills, and lakes.

According to the Census, Owasso is one of the fastest-growing cities in Oklahoma. New Housing developments and schools have been built throughout the Owasso City Limits to accommodate the rising population.

With its proximity to Tulsa, residents of Owasso can get the convenience and amenities of a metropolitan without living in it.

In fact, Owasso became a bedroom community for Tulsa in the 1950’s. But as Tulsa expanded, so did the industry around Owasso, which helped further facilitate its growth.

Industrial development increased during the 1980s and 1990s when companies like American Airlines, Nordam Group and Whirlpool built factories in the area.

The Owasso Public Schools serve students PreK to 12th grade. It is one of the largest school districts in the State of Oklahoma and incorporates seventy-two square miles including territory in Tulsa and Rogers Counties. It includes 15 instructional sites, including nine elementary schools, 6th Grade Center, 7th Grade Center, 8th Grade Center, Owasso High School, and the Owasso Ram Academy. Owasso is also home to The Tulsa Technology Center, a $12 million, 138,000 square foot vocational technical center in Owasso.

One highlight of the area is the Bailey Ranch Golf Club. Opened in 1993, it is regarded as one of the premier championship public courses in Oklahoma. Even more for golf enthusiasts, Owasso is also home to the Patriot Golf Club established in 2010 and designed by preeminent golf course designer Robert Trent Jones Jr.

It’s high value, excellent quality of life, and community are just a few reasons people decide to call Owasso home.

Owasso boasts 640 of the acres which are committed to a common public area. This includes ongoing development of an 80 acre lake with docks for sailing and serene walking trails. Slightly southwest of Owasso are 3,000 acres of beautiful terrain with caves and bluffs called the Stone Canyon development.
