Jenks is located in Tulsa County, Oklahoma. It is a suburb of Tulsa, in the northeastern part of Oklahoma, situated between the Arkansas River and U.S. Route 75. Jenks is one of the fastest-growing cities in Oklahoma.
Home to the Oklahoma Aquarium, Riverwalk Crossing, and plentiful antique shops, Jenks is known far and wide for its small-town charm and big-city atmosphere. Thousands of saltwater and freshwater species are found in the water wonderland of the Oklahoma Aquarium. Just a short walk away, explore the restaurants, shops, and entertainment options at the Riverwalk Crossing.
You can find Oklahoma-grown produce direct from the farmer at The Jenks Farmers’ Market, located at RiverWalk Crossing on Saturdays from May thru September.
Jenks residents enjoy 13 area parks and walking trails can be found in many of the neighborhoods across Jenks. In addition, the Jenks Trails offer easy access for bicyclists, walkers and joggers.
As one of the largest in the state, the Jenks School District encompasses significant portions of southwest Tulsa, and even includes many schools located within the city of Tulsa.
The Richard Lloyd Jones Jr. Airport opened for business just outside Jenks in 1958. It has since become the official reliever for Tulsa International Airport and has grown to be one of the busiest in the state. It serves both commercial and private air travel and has been a major contributing factor to stimulate the growth of Jenks’ economy.
Jenks is home to a multitude of headquarters of businesses including: Kimberly Clark Corporation, Green Country Energy, Public Service Company, Tulsa Winch, Continental Wire Cloth, and Tedford Insurance. Plus, the First Oklahoma Bank is based in Jenks.
In 2010, Southern Living Magazine named Jenks one of the top 17 best small-town getaways.
